We are seeking a skilled .NET Software Engineer for a 6-month contract role, with the potential for extension, to contribute to exciting projects in various industries.

We are looking for an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) & DevExpress Report Designer to join our product engineering team.

This individual will play a key role in managing our database infrastructure, optimizing performance, designing stored procedures, and building enterprise-grade reports using DevExpress reporting tools.

The ideal candidate has strong SQL expertise, hands-on DevExpress reporting experience or previous experience with SAP Crystal Reports, and the ability to collaborate with backend and frontend engineers to deliver efficient, scalable, data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration

• Manage and maintain SQL Server databases for production, staging, and development environments
• Create, optimize, and troubleshoot stored procedures, views, triggers, and functions
• Design and normalize database schemas as needed
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance across all environments
• Monitor and resolve database-related issues proactively
• Collaborate with developers to refine data models and ensure efficient data access

DevExpress Reporting

• Design, build, and maintain reports using DevExpress XtraReports and DevExpress Reporting tools
• Integrate DevExpress reports into our .NET application (Web Document Viewer / Report Viewer)
• Create dynamic, parameterized, and interactive reports
• Optimize report performance, data loading, and rendering
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements
• Develop reusable report templates and improve existing reports

Required Skills & Experience

• 1-3+ years experience as a Database Administrator or SQL Developer
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server
• Advanced SQL query writing and optimization
• Proven experience writing complex stored procedures, views, functions, triggers
• Hands-on experience with DevExpress Reporting (XtraReports)
• Experience integrating DevExpress Report Viewer into .NET applications
• Understanding of database performance tuning and indexing strategies
• Ability to analyze data structures and design reporting datasets
• Experience with data visualization and enterprise reporting best practices
• Familiarity with .NET Core / C# (plus, not mandatory)
