Job Summary

  • The Accounting Officer will support the finance department by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • The role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work with financial data efficiently.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and accounting documentation.
  • Prepare and process invoices, payments, and expense reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Monitor financial transactions to ensure compliance with internal policies.
  • Support budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Prepare statutory deductions such as PAYE, VAT, and other relevant tax filings where applicable.
  • Maintain proper documentation for audits and assist during internal and external audits.
  • Track and report on company expenses and financial performance indicators.
  • Ensure timely filing and safe keeping of financial documents.
  • Collaborate with other departments on financial-related matters.


Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Professional Qualification (Optional but an advantage)
  • ACA, ACCA, ICAN, or ongoing certification.
