Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to oversee the company's financial records, statutory compliance, tax filings, and reporting.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations, accounting standards, and regulatory compliance while demonstrating the ability to manage high transaction volumes in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Prepare and file statutory taxes, including VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), PAYE, and Companies Income Tax (CIT).
  • Liaise with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), and other regulatory bodies on tax and compliance matters.
  • Ensure timely filing of annual returns and maintain compliance with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) requirements.
  • Prepare reconciliations for bank accounts, ledgers, and other financial records.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing accurate documentation in line with IFRS standards.
  • Process financial transactions while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support the implementation of accounting best practices.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets to analyze financial data and prepare reports.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with company financial policies and regulatory requirements.


Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 3–6 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Strong working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, including VAT, Withholding Tax (WHT), PAYE, and Companies Income Tax (CIT).
  • Familiarity with FIRS filing procedures and experience liaising with tax authorities.
  • Working knowledge of Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) statutory compliance and annual returns.
  • Basic understanding of audit processes and IFRS documentation standards.
  • Comfortable representing the company before FIRS, LIRS, CAC, and other regulatory agencies when required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage high transaction volumes.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new accounting systems and technologies.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
