Job Summary

• We are seeking to hire a highly competent and detail-oriented Accountant to join its professional team.
• The ideal candidate must have practical experience in audit and taxation, with prior experience in an audit, tax, finance, or accounting consulting firm being highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, accounts and financial statements.
• Support audit assignments, including planning, fieldwork, documentation and reporting.
• Prepare and review tax computations, returns and related statutory documentation.
• Assist clients with accounting, financial reporting and tax advisory requirements.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support the preparation of management accounts, budgets and financial analysis.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory requirements.
• Liaise with clients and relevant stakeholders to obtain financial information and resolve accounting or tax-related issues.
• Assist in identifying financial, accounting and tax risks and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Maintain proper working papers and documentation for audit and consulting engagements.
• Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, tax laws and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other accounting, audit and consulting duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent is an added advantage.
• Proven audit and tax experience is mandatory.
• Previous experience working in an audit, tax, finance or accounting consulting firm is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and taxation.
• Good understanding of Nigerian tax and statutory compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with confidential financial information.
• Excellent communication and client-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a consulting environment.

Remuneration

N550,000 – N800,000 monthly, depending on experience, qualification and demonstrated competence.
