Job summary
- An Administrative Manager in an investment company plays a critical role in supporting the firm’s fundraising, equity investment, and venture capital operations.
- This position ensures seamless administrative and operational workflows while maintaining regulatory compliance and providing strategic support to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
Fund Administration:
- Oversee fund accounting activities, including preparation of financial statements, NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations, capital calls, and distributions.
- Manage investor reporting and ensure timely delivery of all financial reports.
Operational & Office Support:
- Handle day-to-day administrative operations such as office management, document preparation, scheduling, and data entry.
- Coordinate logistics and ensure smooth internal workflows across departments.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting:
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements for fund operations.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports for internal use and external regulatory bodies.
Relationship Management:
- Serve as a liaison between the firm and external partners, investors, and vendors.
- Foster strong working relationships across departments to support business objectives.
Team Supervision (if applicable):
- Lead and supervise administrative staff, including task delegation, performance monitoring, and training.
- Evaluate team capacity and support staffing needs as required.
Specific Tasks:
- Fund Accounting: Maintain accurate financial records and ensure alignment with relevant accounting standards.
- Investor Relations: Support investor communication, respond to queries, and prepare comprehensive investor reports.
- Due Diligence: Assist in data collection and report preparation during investment due diligence processes.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of changing regulatory landscapes and adapt processes accordingly.
- Data Management: Maintain secure and organized databases, including investor profiles, transaction records, and company documents.
- Skills & Qualifications
- Organizational Excellence: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines efficiently.
- Financial Systems Proficiency: Experience with accounting platforms and financial reporting tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Excel, etc.).
- Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with all stakeholders.
- Investment Knowledge: Solid understanding of fund operations, investment reporting, and compliance processes.
- Team-Oriented: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and professionalism in managing confidential financial and client data.
Qualifications
Education:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is typically required.
- A Master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CFA, CPA) are considered strong assets, especially in investment-related roles.
Professional Experience:
- 3 – 5 years of experience in an administrative, operations, or office management role.
- Prior experience in a financial services, investment, private equity, or venture capital environment is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in financial and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, Sage).
- Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with CRM systems, document management platforms, and compliance tools is a plus.

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 monthly.
