Role Overview

  • We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Lead to drive revenue growth, expand market presence, and build strategic partnerships across Africa’s manufacturing and industrial ecosystem.
  • This role requires a commercially astute and strategic leader with proven experience operating across multiple sectors, particularly within manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, agro-allied, food & beverages, cosmetics, and investment-driven environments.
  • The ideal candidate must have experience working within or alongside a multi-sector consulting or investment firm, with the ability to navigate complex industries, structure deals, and position the company as a trusted partner in business transformation and growth.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Revenue Growth:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company growth targets
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline across multiple sectors and industries
  • Drive revenue by identifying, qualifying, and closing high-value mandates across manufacturing and investment landscapes.

Market Intelligence:

  • Conduct cross-sector market research across manufacturing, agro, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics industries
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity
  • Translate insights into actionable, sector-specific growth strategies.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and manage relationships with HNIs, DFIs, government agencies, and institutional partners
  • Lead client engagements from outreach to deal closure and long-term relationship management
  • Represent the company across diverse industries at events, forums, and stakeholder meetings.

Proposals & Deal Execution:

  • Lead development of proposals, pitch decks, and commercial offers across multi-sector opportunities
  • Structure and negotiate complex deals, partnerships, and investment mandates
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align BD efforts with execution capacity across different sectors.

Partnerships & Team Leadership:

  • Develop strategic alliances across industries including manufacturing, agriculture, cosmetics, and investment ecosystems
  • Lead and manage the BD team (Partnership Lead, Social Media Manager, Research Interns)
  • Build a high-performance, execution-driven culture.

Reporting & Performance:

  • Track KPIs (revenue, pipeline, win rate) and report directly to the Managing Partner
  • Provide weekly updates and monthly performance reports.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA is an advantage)
  • 8+ years of experience in Business Development, Commercial Strategy, or related roles
  • Proven track record of closing high-value deals across multiple sectors
  • Strong experience in a multi-sector environment, including:
  • Manufacturing
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Agro-allied / Agriculture
  • Food & Beverages
  • Cosmetics
  • Investment / Advisory
  • Experience working in or with a consulting firm serving multiple industries is highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of African market dynamics
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Salary

N700,000 - N800,000 monthly.
