Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive business growth, expand our retail market, and strengthen customer relationships within the downstream oil and gas sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, increasing product sales volumes, managing key accounts, and supporting the company's strategic growth initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities for petroleum products and related services.
  • Drive sales growth and achieve agreed revenue and profitability targets.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, industrial customers, and key stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and manage commercial agreements and supply contracts.
  • Expand the company's customer base across various sectors including manufacturing, construction, marine, telecommunications, and transportation.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing dynamics to support business decisions.
  • Develop and implement market penetration and customer retention strategies.
  • Collaborate with operations, logistics, and supply teams to ensure timely product availability and delivery.
  • Prepare business proposals, presentations, and periodic business development reports for management review.
  • Represent the company at industry meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and industry requirements. 
  • Drive the expansion and growth of the company's retail outlet network by identifying viable locations, conducting market assessments, and supporting the establishment and commercialization of new service stations and retail outlets across Nigeria.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for the acquisition, development, and optimization of retail outlets to increase market presence and profitability.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or any related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5–8 years' relevant experience in business development, sales, or commercial operations within the downstream oil and gas industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of the Nigerian downstream petroleum market and industry dynamics.
  • Professional certifications in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development will be an added advantage.
