Job Title: Business Development Manager (FMCG)

Position Summary
- The Business Development Manager will oversee the FMCG division and would play a pivotal role in driving the growth and expansion of the company's distribution network through the FIOT platform.
- This role involves identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities, managing distribution operations, cultivating strong client relationships, and leading a high-performing business development team.
- The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of market dynamics, client needs, and the competitive landscape, with a strong focus on execution, innovation, and strategic alignment with company goals.
Key Responsibilities
Opportunity Identification & Market Expansion:
- Conduct market research to identify and evaluate viable business opportunities, including new markets, client segments, partnerships, and product or service lines suitable for distribution on the FIOT platform.
- Assess and propose new revenue channels that align with FIOT’s growth strategy.
Distribution Operations Management:
- Identify and assess strategic locations for new distribution points.
- Oversee the establishment and operational management of new retail distribution sites.
- Ensure operational efficiency and service excellence across all FIOT locations.
Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to promote FIOT's offerings and secure new business opportunities.
- Establish effective sales pipelines and lead generation processes to drive revenue growth.
- Set and achieve ambitious sales targets and forecasts in alignment with business objectives.
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients by understanding their needs and crafting tailored proposals.
- Manage the entire client life cycle, from onboarding to ongoing relationship development and retention.
- Regularly pitch new products and services to both new and existing clients to maximize value delivery.
Industry Engagement & Market Intelligence:
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote FIOT and build strategic relationships.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to inform strategic decision-making.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the technology and marketing teams to ensure that client requirements are accurately captured and met through the FIOT platform.
- Provide market feedback to product and innovation teams to support continuous improvement.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing business development team.
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance reviews, and professional development in line with company policies and goals.
Budget & Performance Management:
- Develop and manage the business development department’s budget.
- Monitor team performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring regular reporting to senior management.
- Implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications is an advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships, preferably in distribution, retail, or technology-driven environments.
- Strong experience in B2B sales and relationship management
- Demonstrated success in identifying new markets and achieving sales targets.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
- Willingness to travel as required.
