Role Overview

  • This posting covers a spectrum of marketing-focused roles at CashXpress Nigeria, from executive leadership (CMO) to hands-on execution (Digital Marketing Manager/Specialist) and business development (Digital Business Developer).
  • Reports to the Board of Directors/shareholders and MD and collaborates with Product, Finance, Analytics, Compliance, IT and Customer Service teams.

Key Responsibilities

By Role:

Chief Marketing Officer (CMO):

  • Set the overall marketing strategy and brand vision for CashXpress Nigeria, aligning with regulatory constraints and risk controls.
  • Lead multi-channel demand generation, performance marketing, product marketing, brand and communications, and market research.
  • Own the marketing budget, ROI, and go-to-market strategies for new lending products and partnerships.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing marketing leadership team; drive cross-functional collaboration with product, risk, and customer experience.
  • Represent CashXpress in public forums, media engagements, and investor relations as appropriate.
  • Plan and execute multi-channel acquisition campaigns (digital ads, social, content, email, SMS, affiliate programs) to drive loan-originations and app installs.
  • Optimize marketing funnel, A/B test creatives, landing pages, and attribution models; manage budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with Product and Analytics to define and track growth KPIs (CAC, LTV, activation, retention, repayment rates).
  • Oversee brand consistency, PR support, and communications aligned with regulatory and ethical standards.
  • Lead performance reporting to senior leadership and Board as needed.
  • Support CRM/marketing automation, segmentation, and lifecycle campaigns (on-boarding, onboarding optimization, retention).
  • Coordinate with Compliance to ensure all marketing materials meet regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and secure partnerships that accelerate growth (fintechs, banks, mobile operators, retailers, agent networks, merchants).
  • Explore new distribution channels, co-branded campaigns, and product integrations to expand reach.
  • Conduct market research to uncover customer needs, competition, and pricing opportunities.
  • Manage partnership governance, performance tracking, and contract negotiations.


Key Metrics (By Role)

  • overall brand equity, marketing-driven revenue, CAC, LTV, attribution accuracy, and ROAS.
  • CAC, CPA, CPL, CPS, ROAS, conversion rate, and funnel efficiency.
  • campaign performance metrics, engagement, content impact, and email/CRM metrics.
  • number of partnerships, partner revenue, channel maturity, and pipeline.


Required Qualifications and Experience (common core)

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced marketing/finance qualification preferred.
  • Proven experience in fintech/digital lending marketing, growth, or business development in Nigeria.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive user acquisition, activation, and loan origination through digital channels.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian regulatory considerations for financial advertising, data privacy, and consumer protection.
  • Data-driven mindset with proficiency in analytics tools, attribution modeling, and KPI-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with marketing tech stacks (CRM, marketing automation, analytics, content management) and martech integrations.
