Edo State College of Education is founded on the desire to achieve educational reforms in the State, utilizing the facilities of the pre-existing campuses in Abudu, Afuze, and Igueben. It is a reflection of the intentions, expectations, goals, standards, and requirements for quality education delivery. In line with Governor Godwin Obaseki’s desire and commitment to improve the quality of Education in Edo State, this multi-campus State College of Education System with Specialization in various fields was established.

Job Title: College Librarian
Location: Igueben, Edo
Duties/Responsibilities
- He/she shall be the Chief librarian of the College and is responsible to the Provost for the general library matters and running of the College.
- The College Liberian shall be the custodian of all library and information resources of the college and shall perform any other function which the Council or Provost may direct.
Requirements
The College Librarian shall:
- possess a good honours degree from a recognised higher institution in Library Science/ Library and Information Science; be a certified and active member of a Regulatory and Professional body (such as LRCN&NLA);not be above Fifty-nine (59) years of age at the time of application; possess a minimum of eighteen (15) years of relevant post qualification experience in library and Information management from any tertiary institution or supervisory body where he/she has served at the level of not less than Deputy Librarian or its equivalent for not less than two (2) years; be Computer literate.
Tenure
- A College Librarian shall hold office for a single term of five years only, beginning from the effective date of the appointment, and on terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment.
Terms/Conditions of Service:
- The Principal Officer's terms/conditions of service are as contained in the law establishing the College, beginning from the effective date of the appointment and on such terms and conditions as maybe specified in the letter of appointment and/or as applicable to Edo State public service.
