Main Role:
Under the guidance of the Program Coordinator and other partner organizations, the Communications Associate will have the following specific responsibilities and will provide the following deliverables:
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the project’s objectives.
Identify target audiences and tailor communication materials to reach diverse stakeholders, including persons with disabilities, government agencies, NGOs, and the general public.
Create engaging content, including press releases, blogs, social media posts, and infographics.
Document and showcase project success stories through multimedia platforms.
Design and produce communication materials.
Build and maintain relationships with media outlets to ensure coverage of project activities and achievements.
Manage the project’s online presence, including website updates and social media channels.
Develop and implement social media campaigns to raise awareness about disability rights and inclusion.
Support the organization of workshops, events, and advocacy campaigns by developing promotional materials.
Serve as the point of contact for external communication inquiries.
Provide regular updates and reports on communication outcomes and recommendations for improvement.
Educational qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Development Studies, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in communications, preferably within advocacy or development projects.
Core skills
Strong understanding of disability rights and inclusive communication principles.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in design and multimedia tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar platforms.
Strong knowledge of social media platforms and analytics.
Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Work Environment:
Traditional Office hours of 9 am – 5 pm on weekdays
Ability to travel to project sites and assist in event coordination as needed.
