We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Cook

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

Food preparation and cooking:

• Prepare cold food production and hot meal preparation.
• Check food quality and taste while cooking.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, chopping, and cutting.
• Cook dishes using various methods like grilling, frying, and sautéing, following hotel recipes.

Kitchen and workstation management:

• Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and equipment.
• Keep the kitchen and food preparation areas clean, sanitized, and organized.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report any issues or necessary repairs.
• Ensure proper food storage, dating, labeling, and rotation.

Quality control and presentation:

• Ensure all food is prepared to the hotel's high standards and customer requests.
• Garnish and arrange dishes to ensure they are visually appealing.
• Check that portion sizes meet expectations.
• Accommodate guest allergies and dietary needs.

Inventory and ordering:

• Monitor stock levels and place orders for new ingredients as needed.
• Assist with receiving and checking in deliveries.
• Assist with quality and quantity controls for food storage.

Teamwork and supervision:

• Collaborate with other kitchen staff, such as chefs and prep cooks.
• Supervise and delegate tasks to junior kitchen staff when required.
• Liaise with front-of-house staff to ensure food is served correctly.

Requirement

• Interested candidates should possess an SSCE / GCE / NECO qualification.
