Description
- Our front office plays an important role in shaping the daily experience of pupils, parents and visitors. We are therefore seeking a highly organised, professional and dependable Female School Receptionist who can manage the school’s reception with efficiency, warmth and attention to detail.
- The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for the school community, ensuring that every interaction reflects the school’s high standards of professionalism, courtesy and care.
- This role requires an individual who is attentive, proactive and capable of maintaining a calm and welcoming presence in a busy school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Reception and Front Office Management:
- Welcome pupils, parents, staff and visitors in a warm, courteous and professional manner.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all front desk enquiries and ensure they are handled efficiently.
- Ensure all visitors sign in and out in line with the school’s safeguarding procedures.
- Direct enquiries appropriately and provide clear information regarding school procedures where required.
- Maintain a calm, organised and welcoming reception environment throughout the school day.
Telephone and Enquiry Management:
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, ensuring all enquiries are handled courteously and accurately.
- Take clear messages where necessary and ensure they are delivered to the appropriate staff members promptly.
- Maintain a polite, calm and professional telephone manner at all times.
Attendance and Record Keeping:
- Accurately record pupil attendance each day.
- Follow up on unexplained absences in accordance with school procedures.
- Maintain clear records of late arrivals and early departures.
- Ensure all attendance records and relevant databases remain accurate and up to date.
Admissions Enquiries and Prospective Parent Engagement
- Serve as the first point of contact for prospective parents making enquiries about the school.
- Confidently provide clear and accurate information to prospective parents regarding the school’s programmes, admissions procedures and general expectations of the school.
- Record and maintain accurate details of all admission enquiries received via phone, email or walk-in visits.
- Schedule school visits or appointments for prospective parents when required.
- Ensure all admission enquiries are properly logged, communicated to leadership and followed-up.
Administrative Support:
- Provide administrative support including photocopying, printing and laminating as required.
- Maintain clear and legible handwritten records where necessary.
- Take meeting notes and produce well-structured minutes.
Reception Environment:
- Ensure reception and office notice boards are kept up to date and professionally presented.
- Maintain a tidy, organised and welcoming front office environment at all times.
Parent and Pupil Support:
- Respond courteously to parent enquiries regarding school procedures and schedules.
- Provide support to pupils with minor concerns such as lost items.
Front of House Expectations
- As the first point of contact for the school, the Receptionist is expected to consistently demonstrate a high standard of professionalism.
- Maintain a neat, modest and professional appearance suitable for a school environment.
- Interact with parents confidently, courteously and professionally, ensuring that all enquiries are handled clearly and reflect the school’s high standards of service.
- Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality when handling school information
- Demonstrate confidence, initiative and sound judgement when handling responsibilities and supporting the smooth running of the school office.
- Maintain a calm, solution-focused approach when responding to enquiries or addressing concerns.
- Operate in full alignment with school policies and procedures, ensuring that all front office activities are carried out in line with safeguarding standards and established school protocols
Ideal Candidate:
- Applicants must reside in Ibadan and be able to commute easily toJericho, Ibadan.
- The ideal candidate will be a well-presented, composed and highly organised individual who understands the importance of first impressions in a school environment.
Requirements
Education:
- A Degree in Administration, Management or a related discipline.
Experience:
- Minimum of three years’ continuous experience working in a well-organised school with clear administrative systems and procedures or a structured front desk/reception role within a professional service environment such as education, hospitality, healthcare or corporate office administration.
- Experience in structured, client-facing environments requiring professionalism, discretion and strong communication skills will be highly advantageous.

Salary
N120,000 - N150,000 monthly.
