Job Title: General Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and reliable General Maintenance Engineer to support our facility upgrades, machine operations and assist in ensuring our equipment and facilities run smoothly and efficiently.


Scope of Work

We are looking for a General Maintenance Engineer who can oversee and/or execute tasks including (but not limited to):

  • Facility construction and structural modifications.
  • Installation of food processing equipment.
  • Electrical and mechanical system upgrades.
  • Plumbing and HVAC work.
  • Ensuring all work complies with food safety regulations including OSHA, GMP, HACCP and local building codes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular maintenance and repair of food processing equipment, packaging lines, conveyors, and plant utilities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and basic PLC-related issues.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance (PM) schedules to reduce downtime.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks meet food safety, GMP, and safety compliance standards.
  • Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimize production interruptions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to optimize equipment performance.
  • Maintain tools, spare parts inventory, and safe working practices.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Technical Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with food processing or packaging equipment is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and health & safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and respond to call-outs when needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
