Job Summary
- The graduate trainee will support the research, strategy, and digital teams in driving data-led decision-making across radio, digital, and podcast platforms.
- This role is designed to build strong foundational skills in media research, audience data management, content performance analysis, and campaign support.
- The trainee will be exposed to programming, marketing, sales support, and digital distribution processes across multiple radio brands.
- This role is ideal for a young professional looking to build a career in media research, audience insights, digital strategy, and content monetization.
Key Responsibilities
Research & Audience Insights:
- Support the collection, organisation, and maintenance of audience data across radio, digital, and podcast platforms.
- Assist in building and updating programming and audience databases
- Conduct basic qualitative and quantitative research (surveys, call-ins analysis, focus group summaries)
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and audience behaviour
- Support preparation of research reports, presentations, and insight decks for internal teams.
Data Management & Reporting:
- Help clean, validate, and manage data from multiple sources (programming logs, digital analytics, audience feedback)
- Assist in generating weekly and monthly performance reports
- Track KPIs for programs, campaigns, and digital initiatives
- Maintain organised documentation and data repositories
Digital & Podcast Support:
- Support podcast distribution across streaming platforms
- Assist in tracking podcast performance metrics (downloads, reach, engagement)
- Support research into monetisation opportunities and platform presence
- Help audit digital and podcast assets across brands
Media Planning & Campaign Support:
- Support development of media plans with research-backed insights
- Assist in campaign evaluations and post-campaign reports
- Provide research support for client pitches and internal strategy sessions
- Help map brand-programme alignment opportunities
Cross-Departmental Support:
- Work with Programming, Marketing, Sales, and Digital teams on assigned projects
- Support email newsletter data preparation and performance tracking
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute fresh ideas
- Carry out other research and strategy-related tasks as assigned
Learning & Development Objectives:
- Gain hands-on experience in media research and audience analytics
- Understand radio programming strategy and performance measurement
- Learn data management best practices
- Develop presentation and reporting skills
- Build foundational knowledge in digital and podcast monetisation
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, or related fields
- 0–2 years post-graduation experience
- Strong interest in media, research, data, and digital content
- Basic understanding of radio, digital media, or podcasting is an advantage
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organisational ability
- Basic knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets; PowerPoint/Canva
- Willingness to learn data tools and analytics platforms
- Ability to work with deadlines and multiple tasks
