Job Description
- We are seeking a strategic and experienced finance professional to serve as Head of Finance, with a clear trajectory to becoming the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
- This role is central to Aventa’s continued growth and will lead all aspects of financial strategy, investment planning, and risk management.
- The successful candidate will bring a proven track record in high-growth environments, deep financial expertise, and strong leadership capabilities.
- They must have prior experience in top-tier consulting and must have led financial operations in an organization with annual revenues exceeding ₦10 billion.
Please Note, Only candidates with:
- Ex-consulting experience from firms such as McKinsey, Deloitte, BCG, Bain, PwC, KPMG, or EY, and
- Direct financial leadership in a company with ₦50 billion+ in annual revenue will be considered.
Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Corporate Leadership:
- Develop and execute long-term financial strategies to support rapid scale and profitability
- Partner with the board to drive high-level decision-making and strategic planning
Investment & Capital Management:
- Lead capital allocation, investor engagement, and fundraising strategy (equity and debt).
- Build robust financial models for new ventures, acquisitions, and internal investment cases
Financial Planning & Operational Efficiency:
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across business units.
- Implement performance tracking systems and drive cost optimization initiatives
Compliance, Governance & Risk:
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, Nigerian tax laws, and global financial regulations
- Establish internal controls, audit processes, and financial governance standards
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with auditors, regulators, banks, and investors to ensure financial transparency
- Represent Aventa in strategic financial negotiations, partnerships, and board meetings
Technology & Transformation:
- Lead digital finance initiatives including ERP implementation and automation.
- Drive adoption of analytics tools for real-time reporting and strategic forecasting
Job Requirements
Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
- MBA, CFA, CPA, or ACCA is strongly preferred
Experience:
- 7–10+ years of progressive financial leadership
- Ex-consultant from a top-tier firm (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, PwC, EY, KPMG, Bain)
- Led financial operations in a company with ₦10 billion+ annual revenue (mandatory)
- Industry experience in manufacturing, infrastructure, technology, processing, or other capital-intensive sectors is highly valued.
Core Competencies:
- Advanced financial modeling, capital structuring, and investor relations
- Proven record of capital raising, M&A support, and board-level reporting
- Strategic mindset with a strong command of financial technologies and risk frameworks.
Salary
- N400,000 - N1,200,000 / Month, based on experience and technical skill level.
