We’re looking for a fluent Igbo Speaker based in Lagos to join our team as a Part-time Online Tutor. You will teach Igbo Language to learners across the globe via Zoom using our structured conversational teaching method. You will also record AudioBooks and other learning materials. You need to be a resident of Lagos for this role. You must have WAEC SSCE Grade A1 in Igbo Language or a higher qualification.


Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, spoken Igbo lessons via Zoom For 3 lessons on Saturday Evenings (5pm-6pm, 6.30pm-7.30pm, 8pm-9pm)
  • Prepare lessons and do Audio recordings for our AudioBooks and Act as Shadow Tutor for other Tutors on the Team (Tuesdays and Wednesdays 5pm-6pm, 6.30pm-7.30pm, 8pm-9pm)
  • Help learners improve their speaking and listening skills in Igbo
  • Follow our in-house method for teaching conversational Igbo
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students and the LIBC Team


Requirements

  • Must currently live in Lagos
  • Minimum grade of A1 in Igbo Language (SSCE WAEC) – this is compulsory
  • Fluent in both spoken and written Igbo and English
  • Prior experience using Zoom (essential)
  • Access to a reliable, high-speed internet connection (non-negotiable)
  • Passionate about promoting the Igbo language
  • No teaching degree required – enthusiasm and commitment to learners are what matter most
  • You must have very good attention to detail - an extremely low error count.


Working Hours

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Required) (Two 30 minute breaks are provided) 


Remuneration

Competitive hourly pay (paid in Naira) starting at N3,000 an hour, rising to N5,000 an hour if performance is satisfactory.
