Job Title: Mechanical Engineering Officer

Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient Mechanical Engineer Officer to lead and manage critical mechanical systems across our pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for driving equipment reliability, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting engineering excellence through proactive maintenance, equipment qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- This role requires strong leadership, deep technical expertise, and a commitment to GMP and operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of mechanical maintenance strategies for critical manufacturing equipment and utilities.
- Oversee the installation, qualification, and lifecycle management of mechanical assets in accordance with cGMP, WHO, and NAFDAC standards.
- Ensure mechanical equipment reliability to minimize downtime and support production efficiency.
- Provide technical support during external audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Lead or participate in multidisciplinary teams for engineering projects, utility upgrades, and factory expansions.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of maintenance activities in line with regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by optimizing mechanical systems for energy efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Interface with validation, production, and quality assurance teams during equipment commissioning, performance qualification (PQ), and requalification.
Qualifications & Experience
- B.Eng. or HND in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mechanical maintenance in a pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing environment.
- NABTEB.
- Trade Test 1,2 & 3
Key Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, utilities, and engineering standards.
- Hands-on experience with equipment servicing, repairs, and technical reporting.
- Strong understanding of GMP and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with CMMS tools and maintenance documentation.
