We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pastry & Desert Chef

Location: Ikate, Lekki - Lagos

Role Summary

  • The Pastry & Dessert Chef will oversee the concept, creation, and execution of all pastries and desserts served in our restaurant, lounge, and events.
  • This role requires precision, artistry, and an eye for detail, ensuring each creation meets international fine dining standards.
  • We are searching for a world-class Pastry & Dessert Chef who can produce exquisite pastries and desserts that are as visually stunning as they are delicious.
  • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in continental, intercontinental, and modern dessert preparation, including plated desserts, artisan breads, fine pastries, and innovative sweet creations.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Pastry & Dessert Production:

  • Design and prepare a range of luxury desserts including cakes, tarts, mousses, parfaits, and plated dessert selections
  • Create continental and intercontinental pastries such as croissants, éclairs, mille-feuille, danishes, macarons, and specialty baked goods
  • Incorporate seasonal ingredients and artistic plating techniques for a unique guest experience
  • Develop dessert pairings for tasting menus, events, and themed occasions

Menu Innovation & Development:

  • Design signature dessert menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef
  • Introduce modern dessert trends such as deconstructed plates, chocolate artistry, and sugar work
  • Adapt recipes to cater for dietary preferences and allergy requirements without compromising quality

Operational Excellence:

  • Lead and train pastry assistants to ensure consistency and excellence
  • Monitor kitchen hygiene, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols
  • Manage dessert production schedules to ensure freshness and timely service

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Pastry Chef or Dessert Chef in an international-standard kitchen or luxury hospitality brand
  • Mastery of both classic and modern dessert and pastry techniques
  • Knowledge of artisan bread making, laminated doughs, chocolate tempering, sugar pulling, and dessert plating artistry
  • Exceptional creativity, attention to detail, and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to manage time, staff, and high-pressure kitchen environments
  • Culinary/Pastry Arts qualification from a recognized institution preferred
  • Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays when required

Salary

N200,000 - N300,000 monthly.
