We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement Assistant

Locations: Lagos and Ota - Ogun

Employment Type: Full-time

Department: Procurement / Supply Chain

Reports To: Plant Manager

Position Overview

  • The Procurement Assistant supports the procurement team in sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the supply of goods and services for the company.
  • The role ensures timely procurement of quality materials at the best value, maintains accurate records, and assists with vendor management and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of purchase orders, requisitions, and requests for quotation.
  • Support vendor sourcing, price comparison, and negotiations to achieve cost savings and quality standards.
  • Maintain an updated supplier database, including contact details, contracts, and performance records.
  • Monitor order status and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of goods and services.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse, finance, and user departments to ensure smooth procurement and inventory flow.
  • Verify supplier invoices, delivery notes, and payment documentation for accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and approval limits.
  • Assist in preparing procurement reports and analysis (e.g., spend reports, supplier performance tracking).
  • Support in resolving supply issues, shortages, or quality complaints with vendors.
  • Carry out any other related duties as assigned by the Procurement Manager.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or administrative support (internship experience may be considered).
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and basic supply chain principles.
  • Good negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Integrity, confidentiality, and commitment to ethical procurement practices.
