National Orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi started as a Military Rehabilitation Camp for prisoners of war returning from the 2nd World War. After recognition by the Colonial Medical Services in 1945, it became a medical establishment known as Igbobi Orthopaedic Hospital. In name, the hospital has undergone a metamorphosis from Igbobi Hospital to Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and now National Orthopaedic Hospital. The hospital, between 1945 and 1977, was at various times under the administration of the Federal Government and Lagos State Government. It has however remained a Federal Government health institution since 1977 to date. The hospital can accommodate up to 450 patients.

In the early days, the sphere of influence of the hospital extended to other parts of the West African Sub-region, Central Africa and Angola. During the same period, the hospital was a repository of materials and resources for students. The Hospital is on a Mission to provide effective, qualitative, affordable specialized healthcare delivery and serve as an advocacy centre for injury control and disability prevention in all areas of our specialty including training and reasearch through partnership with all our stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a first degree in Radiography or its equivalent from a recognized Institution and be registered with Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN)
  • NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate and current practising Licence.
  • He/She must have completed one year Internship.

Salary Grade

  • CONHESS 9.


Condition of Service

  • The conditions of service including the fringe benefits are as applicable in the Federal Public Service.
