Job Title: Retail Sales Manager (Fashion)

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Role Description

  • We are looking for a results-driven Retail Sales Manager to oversee our in-store sales operations, lead a team of sales associates, and ensure exceptional customer experiences.
  • This role requires a dynamic leader who can drive sales targets, motivate staff, and ensure seamless day-to-day store operations while aligning with the brand's goals and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Boutique Business Development and Client Relationship Management:

  • Forge and nurture client relationships through personalized interactions to drive business growth.
  • Analyze the boutique's performance and local market opportunities to tailor a proactive sales strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Management Team to establish and maintain authentic client connections that boost business prospects.
  • Implement the Boutique Commercial Action Plan to crystallize the client development vision.
  • Champion the creation of memorable experiences for clients and visitors, enhancing brand loyalty.
  • Organize networking activities to extend the boutique's reach and client base.

Sales Performance and Customer Service Excellence:

  • Lead the sales team to consistently meet or surpass sales targets and key performance indicators.
  • Develop and oversee strategic boutique events to augment the client experience.
  • Regularly strategize with corporate entities to ensure alignment and success of the boutique.
  • Communicate and manage individual and team KPIs alongside the Management Team for continuous improvement.
  • Delegate and lead boutique projects to ensure operational excellence.
  • Analyze and recommend strategies for optimizing controllable operating expenses.

Team Development and Operational Leadership:

  • Inspire and support staff, fostering a high-performance culture within the boutique.
  • Coordinate with the Management Team and corporate partners to craft and execute comprehensive training plans.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback for team development.
  • Facilitate consistent communication of strategic brand initiatives and boutique objectives.
  • Educate the team on industry trends, competitive landscape, and brand knowledge.
  • Oversee administrative functions, including commission structures and accuracy.

Prestige Market Expansion and Partnership Cultivation:

  • Engage with the local and international prestige market to broaden the boutique's reach to high-end clientele.
  • Foster partnerships with luxury brands and services to elevate the boutique's offerings and enhance prestige sales.
  • Devise and implement bespoke marketing strategies that highlight the boutique's exclusive product lines to the prestige clientele.
  • Utilize partnerships to organize and host exclusive events, enhancing the boutique’s image as a luxury destination.
  • Introduce a loyalty program tailored for prestige customers to encourage repeat business and deeper brand affiliation.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of prestige market initiatives to continuously refine and improve engagement strategies.

Brand Representation and Environment Cultivation:

  • Champion brand ethos, ensuring that the boutique exemplifies the brand's premium image and standards.
  • Cultivate a boutique environment that reflects luxury and elegance, appealing to the boutique’s discerning clientele.
  • Encourage the team to provide a bespoke customer service experience that aligns with the brand’s reputation for exclusivity and quality.
  • Lead by example, representing the brand with professionalism in all internal and external interactions.
  • Facilitate a culture of continuous learning and brand advocacy among team members through regular training and brand immersion activities.
  • Implement visual merchandising strategies that showcase the brand’s products and heritage, creating an inviting and captivating shopping experience.

Qualifications and Key Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Proven experience (typically 8 years) as a Retail Sales Manager, Store Manager, or similar role, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity—leading dynamic sales teams and interfacing effectively with executive management and corporate partners.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Solid understanding of retail KPIs, sales techniques, and customer engagement.
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Tech-savvy and familiar with POS systems and retail software.
