Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and safety management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations and company standards.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Organize safety induction, training, and awareness programmes for employees and contractors.
  • Monitor the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to safe work practices.
  • Prepare and submit HSE reports, safety statistics, and regulatory documentation.
  • Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including drills and response plans.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to promote a safe working environment and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a positive safety culture through employee engagement and regular safety campaigns.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
  • 5–7years of proven HSE experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment; experience in furniture or wood-processing industries is an added advantage.
  • Professional HSE certification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISPON, OSHA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and influence a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.
