Job Title: Security Manager

Job Summary

• We are seeking a proactive, disciplined, and experienced Security Manager to oversee security operations, protect company assets, prevent losses, and ensure the safety of employees, customers, and visitors.
• The Security Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing security procedures, supervising security personnel, monitoring CCTV and access control systems, investigating incidents, and ensuring effective loss-prevention measures across the supermarket.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Supervise security personnel and coordinate daily security operations across shifts.
• Protect company property, inventory, cash, employees, customers, and visitors.
• Implement loss-prevention measures to minimise theft, fraud, pilferage, and unauthorised access.
• Monitor CCTV systems, access points, loading bays, and other sensitive areas.
• Investigate security incidents, document findings, and submit incident reports to management.
• Coordinate emergency response procedures, including fire incidents, medical emergencies, and security threats.
• Work closely with Store Operations, Warehouse, Inventory, Finance, and HR to strengthen internal controls.
• Ensure proper security coverage during store opening, closing, deliveries, and stocktaking.
• Conduct security briefings, drills, inspections, and staff awareness sessions.
• Maintain accurate security logs, incident registers, visitor records, and shift handover reports.
• Recommend improvements to security systems, procedures, and risk management practices.

Requirements and Qualifications

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminology, Public Administration, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years' relevant security experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Previous experience in a supermarket, retail chain, FMCG company, warehouse, logistics, or similar environment is an advantage.
• Demonstrated knowledge of loss prevention, incident investigation, access control, and emergency management.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to supervise personnel across multiple shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• High integrity, sound judgement, discipline, and attention to detail.
• Must be based in Abuja or be available to work in Abuja.
