Edo State College of Education is founded on the desire to achieve educational reforms in the State, utilizing the facilities of the pre-existing campuses in Abudu, Afuze, and Igueben. It is a reflection of the intentions, expectations, goals, standards, and requirements for quality education delivery. In line with Governor Godwin Obaseki’s desire and commitment to improve the quality of Education in Edo State, this multi-campus State College of Education System with Specialization in various fields was established.

Requirements
- Candidates must possess a Doctorate Degree in relevant field(s) from a recognised university with at least six years of teaching/research in higher institution and possess at least 12 scholarly publications and must have attended conferences.
- He/she must have been registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and must be computer literate.
