Our client, a major player in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking to hire a TECHNICAL SALES ENGINEER, with knowledge in drilling equipment and Valves, OCTG and Line pipes, well heads. Candidates who have been involved in sales engineering for other production equipment, tools or process facilities, would be ideal. The person will have a solid technical SALES background in upstream drilling operations and valve systems, coupled with strong commercial acumen.


Required

  • B.sc in mechanical engineering, Petroleum Engineering
  • 5–7 years of experience in technical sales, preferably focused on drilling equipment and/or industrial valves 
  • Understanding of oilfield equipment, pipelines, valves, pumps, compressors, or instrumentation, drilling operations, hydraulic systems, and flow control equipment 
  • Ability to manage complex sales cycles and technical negotiations.
  • Familiarity with API, ASME, and other relevant industry codes and standards. 
  • Prior experience working with drilling contractors, OEMs, or oilfield service companies. 
  • Knowledge of digital valve diagnostics and remote monitoring systems. 
  • Experience with offshore and onshore drilling environments.


RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas sectors. 
  • Generate and qualify leads in the drilling and well services sector. 
  • Promote products including (but not limited to): blowout preventers (BOPs), wellhead systems, gate/globe/ball valves, mud pumps, choke/kill manifolds, drilling spools, and related equipment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with operators, drilling contractors, and EPCs.
  • Deliver persuasive technical presentations and sales pitches tailored to client needs. 
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance to customers. 
  • Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and site visits.
  • Interpret customer technical specifications and recommend appropriate solutions. 
  • Work with customers to understand well control and drilling system requirements. 
  • Recommend and specify valves and drilling equipment in line with industry standards (API 6A, API 16A, API 6D, etc.). 
  • Assist with equipment selection based on pressure rating, temperature, fluid compatibility, and operating environment. 
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical assistance to customers. 
  • Work with customers to understand well control and drilling system requirements.
  • Recommend and specify valves and drilling equipment in line with industry standards (API 6A, API 16A, API 6D, etc.).
  • Assist with equipment selection based on pressure rating, temperature, fluid compatibility, and operating environment
